TikTok user @fuelwithkay who boasts 25.4K followers on the app and focuses on creating content about ‘healthy grocery store tips, paleo meal inspo & all things holistic health,’ shared with her followers three snack swaps you can make at the grocery store for a more balanced and nutritious snack time while also sticking to your weight loss regimen.

Doritos

Kayla first started by pointing out the negative effects of Doritos chips for our bodies. “I think it’s safe to say that we all know by now that Doritos are absolutely terrible for you.”

She lists harmful ingredients in Doritos which include: vegetable oils, red 40, yellow 5, GMO corn, artificial colors and more.

Instead, she recommends Siete nacho flavored chips which are made with avocado oil, gluten-free, and non-GMO certified.

Hot Cheetos

Alright, let’s talk about Hot Cheetos, the snack that’s got tongues tingling and fingers turning red. Now, don’t get us wrong, they’re tasty and all, but let’s face it – they’re not exactly the poster child for healthy snacks. Loaded with artificial colors, crazy amounts of sodium, and enough spice to light up a campfire, these fiery munchies might be a bit too much for our bodies.

Kayla says these red sticks should say “most likely to make you ill and have digestive issues.” Harmful ingredients in this bag includes: red 40, yellow 6 and 5, gmo corn and more.

Instead, she wants us to swap them with Fiery Hot Paleo Puffs. This alternative is USDA organic, grain free, and made with organic coconut oil.

Cheez-It

Cheez-Its, those crunchy little squares of cheesy goodness. While they might be a snack-time favorite, let’s be real – they’re not exactly the healthiest option in the aisle. Packed with refined flour, loads of sodium, and a cheese flavor that’s more on the artificial side, these cheesy bites might be a bit heavy on the not-so-healthy scale.

Kayla points out the unhealthy ingredients in Cheez-Its which include: vegetable oils, soybean oils, and TBHQ.

No need to worry though, as Kayla recommends Simple Mills Farmhouse cheddar crackers which are non-GMO, gluten free, and have no artificial ingredients.

However, she does point out that although she’s not a fan of sunflower oil in this healthier alternative, they are still “significantly better” when compared to Cheez-Its.
